When mounting the SureFlap Microchip Cat Door in a glass pane, your glazier will generally cut a circular hole, leaving open areas around the corners of your cat door. The Cat Door Mounting Adaptor covers these open areas, preventing loss of heat from your home and providing a clean, neat finish to your installation.

The recommended wall installation technique avoids the use of adhesives, which could make it difficult to remove your cat door at a later date. It also means that you do not have to drill through any part of your cat door during installation.
We also recommend using Cat Door Tunnel Extenders.

Step-by-step Instructions
The SureFlap Microchip Cat Door has been designed as a drop-in replacement for most existing cat doors. However, in some instances you may find that the hole left by your previous cat door is larger than the hole required for your SureFlap Microchip Cat Door. The Cat Door Mounting Adaptor provides a neat way to cover such a hole.
In rare instances it may be necessary to cut a larger hole when installing the SureFlap Microchip Cat Door into a door containing metal, as the presence of a metal plate can influence the performance of the SureFlap Microchip Cat Door. If this is the case, we recommend the use of the Cat Door Mounting Adaptor to cover the hole, as above. Detailed installation instructions for metal doors can be found on page 8 of the product manual.
